Costume, Hair, and Makeup Looks

DHDC Student Company Fall Film 2020

See below for Fall Film looks by company level. Costumes will be handed out during rehearsal September 13 - 19 and are yours to keep (will be reused in other shows this season). Dancers are responsible for their own masks and shoes. Solos and duets should consult with their choreographer for hair, makeup, shoe, and tight information.

Youth Company - “Acceptance”

Dancer should wear their Burgundy costume (provided by DHDC) and their own version of hair half up half down (braids optional). No makeup. Dancers will need to bring their own nude face mask and neutral sneakers (white, ivory, beige, tan, etc.). They will be dancing on grass outside and should look “free and ethereal.” Hair, shoes, and masks can all be somewhat different, but see below for examples.

 Junior I Company - “Denial”

Dancer should wear their Blue costume (provided by DHDC) and hair in slick low braided bun with right side part. Dark, smokey eye makeup (no makeup needed under mask). Dancers will need to bring their own black face mask. No tights or shoes.

Junior II Company - “Bargaining”

Dancer should wear their Ivory costume (provided by DHDC) and hair sleek half up half down. Basic stage eye makeup (no makeup needed under mask). Dancers will need to bring their own nude face mask and ballet shoes. No tights.

Junior II Company - “Acceptance”

Dancer should wear their Ivory costume (provided by DHDC) and hair in their own looser variation of half up half down (braids optional). Dewy white eye makeup (no makeup needed under mask). Dancers will need to bring their own nude face mask and neutral sneakers (white, ivory, beige, tan, etc.). They will be dancing on grass outside and should look “free and ethereal.” Hair, shoes, and masks can all be somewhat different, but see below for examples.

Junior II Company - “Anger”

Dancer should wear their Grey costume (provided by DHDC) and hair in slick braided low bun with right side part. Dark, smokey eye makeup (no makeup needed under mask). Dancers will need to bring their own black face mask. No tights, no shoes.

Senior Company - “Depression”

Dancer should wear their Green costume (provided by DHDC) and hair sleek half up half down. Basic stage eye makeup (no makeup needed under mask). Dancers will need to bring their own nude face mask and ballet shoes. No tights.

Senior Company - “Acceptance”
