Company Events

 Auditions: Held June 14th and August 2nd at the studio. Dancers must attend either one in person audition or submit a virtual audition to be placed in their level of company and ballet classes. Auditionees must submit the online pre-registration form:

Photo Shoot: Company headshots and class photos will be taken at the studio on Saturday, August 26th from 2:00pm – 6:00pm.

Fall Contemporary Show: Our fall contemporary performance showcases our company dancers’ strengths in modern and contemporary dance. The Fall Show will be Saturday, September 30th from 10am -10pm. 

The Nutcracker Fairies: Our company dancers are a highlight of our Holiday Show, “The Nutcracker Fairies.” Company dancers audition for special character roles. Our Holiday Show will be held at Emory University Performing Arts Theater. Dress Rehearsals will take place Thursday, December 14th from 4 – 10pm and Friday, December 15th from 4 – 10pm. Three performances will take place Saturday, December 16th from 10am – 10pm.

KSU Dance Festival: This will be an optional additional opportunity for our company dancers (high schoolers only). Dancers will take master classes alongside other studios and attend performances at Kennesaw State University. Additional fees apply.

Spring Storybook Show: Our spring show incorporates the magic of storytelling through dance. Our Storybook show will take place Saturday, March 9th from 10am – 10pm.

Spirit Week: Leading up to our big competition weekend April 7th – April 13th, company dancers are invited to participate in a fun dress up themed week for all their classes and rehearsals.

Competition: Company dancers will compete full group dances with optional solos and small groups. May 3 - 5.

Recital: Our Spring Recital is our big end of the year showcase. This performance allows students to show their growth from the school year in all their classes and dance styles. Company dancers will perform their company routines along with class dances, and any special solos or duets. May 16 - 18.

 End of year celebration!: We will be celebrating the end of another fantastic season at DHDC with a party at the studio May 11th.

 Summer Intensives: Returning Company dancers are required to attend a minimum of one summer intensive for Apprentice Company and two intensives for Theater Company, or attend a minimum of 6 private lessons. We will begin learning choreography for our fall show/competition during the two weeks of pro technique intensive. We will be selecting a student choreography piece to present in fall show from our Young Choreographer’s camp.
