COVID-19 Safety Updates
MARCH 15, 2020
Dear DHDC Families,
As announced earlier this weekend, the Druid Hills Dance Center will be closing at our physical location along with Dekalb County schools until further notice. While we hope to be reopening our doors as soon as possible, we have spent the past few days discussing possible solutions with other local dance studios, as the situation with COVID-19 continues to unfold. We have decided to begin offering our dance classes as a new live streaming service until it is safe to have everyone back at the studio.
Our goal is to allow students to continue with their dance educations, while taking precautions to keep everyone healthy and at home. Many of us have been advised to stay home from school, work, and social activities at present. It is my hope that these online classes will allow students to continue to learn, stay active, and stay connected with our beloved dance community in what has been a difficult time for all.
We invite you to join us for classes via the Zoom platform. We will be offering all our regular classes and rehearsals via live stream this week. As we are only able to live stream one class at a time, we’ve made a few temporary updates to our current class schedule.

Classes will also be recorded for those unable to attend the live stream, so your dancer can take class with you at home, anytime, at your convenience.
We plan to continue with Applause Talent Competition and our Spring Recital as scheduled once DHDC reopens. All solo and duet rehearsals will be postponed and rescheduled once the studio is open.
Thank you all for your patience and understanding given these unusual and extreme circumstances. Parents and siblings, feel free to join in our classes via the livestream with your dancer, as I’m sure we all could use some dance therapy and movement right now! We will continue to update you as we receive new information on COVID-19 and Dekalb County schools, and we are very excited to see you all this week for class!
Love to all,
Meg Morrissey

Hello DHDC Families,
We hope this note finds you well and healthy. This is an update regarding the ongoing developments with COVID-19. Our decisions and protocols regarding COVID-19 follow recommendations by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Georgia Department of Public Health, and the Dekalb County School District. Due to Gov. Kemp's recommendations to close schools and childcare facilities this afternoon, Dekalb County is closing schools effective March 16th. As with our inclement weather decisions in the past, DHDC follows Dekalb County School closings. DHDC will also be closing as of Monday, March 16th for all classes and rehearsals, until we learn it is safe to reopen.
Right now our top priority is the health and safety of our students, teachers, and families. We are already working on plans for offering makeup classes to our students for this semester. At this time, we are hopeful the government's plans for containment will be effective, and we will be able to reopen in the near future. As we learn more in the coming days, we will monitor the situation closely and keep you informed on the best solution for our students to be able to continue with their dance educations.
Thank you all for your patience and understanding during this time.
